Starting University again as an older student has been really nerve wrecking experience, I am almost 10 years older than everyone in my class and I feel that I may be very out of place. I am very out of practice in academia and feel that with this comes working alongside studying to self fund my first year of Uni, there is so much possibility that I can fall behind or get more anxious when trying to prepare for assignments and exams. I will continue to mindful about this during my time studying!

I received information about induction week rather late which meant to due my work rota I was unable to attend the initial induction for the start of Uni. This is furthering my worry but I am trying to remain positive so that I enjoy my first term as I want to be excited about studying psychology and getting to my end goal in my chosen career! Luckily my friend has just graduated from LJMU so she filled me in on the induction week and helped me navigate the my LJMU app and canvas.

Looking back at Week 1 now, I would definitely prioritise my studies and attend the induction week regardless of my work responsibilities to make the upcoming weeks at lot easier. I believe attending this week would have helped me get to know other students in my lecture groups also as students do all seem to know each other from this.
