The struggle of the work/uni balance has been very prevalent this week. I have been trying to look at ways I can manage my time better with this, As I have not managed my time wisely over the last few weeks I am becoming very overwhelmed trying to stay on top of my work and prepare for upcoming assessments. Due to feeling so overwhelmed when I have been trying to complete work I am not focused and have been doubting my ability to complete my course to a good grade.

Reflectively what I could have done is bought a diary to plan in times I will use to dedicate to at home learning around university studies. I believe setting designated time to complete extra work and continue assignments would have helped me a lot this week, going forward in my studies in January I will use this as a tool to plan and organise myself so I do not get a stressed and overwhelmed as I have this week.

During this workshop this week it was focused on arguments, what they are and why they are useful in my academic work as well as in many papers, books or journals I may read over my time in university. Using the WEED technique the task this week was to read a few articles provided to us by the tutor and find the argument in each of these. After this we split into groups to compare whether the arguments we found were the same, if they weren't which was the case in our group we looked and compared the arguments we had found to find the argument in which we all agreed on but also why we may of found the difference in our arguments. I have always found working as a group slightly harder than working individually, I believe this is because with group work you have to compromise more and I always fear that if I have the wrong answer I will be judged or thought less of. This is a skill I intend to work on to boost my confidence while completing group work as even outside of university group work is sometimes crucial to getting the job done.
